Why highly “successful” people are rarely satisfied — an evolutionary perspective
The idea of “attaining success” is one that is deeply embedded into most cultures.
Strangely enough, the definition of this success is anything but obvious. Many of us don’t have an objective benchmark of what it looks like– preferring instead to place our faith in the “we’ll know when we get there” approach.
This series isn’t about trying to change your views or to come to a standard definition that everyone should aim for — that’s impossible. Rather it is written to help improve your chances for attaining it — whatever it means for you.
But in order to improve your chances of “success”, we’ll first need to demystify it.
What even is “success”?
Everyone has a different definition based on their own life experiences and upbringing. However, there is a similar thread that runs through each individual’s definition of it.
And this common thread has its origin in the fact that humans have shared an evolutionary journey. It is this shared journey that has led to a common blueprint of success that I allude to.
